We're seeking an experienced Backend Developer to take full ownership of designing and managing the backend infrastructure for a scalable web/mobile application.

About the Role:
  • Owning the entire backend architecture, from planning to deployment
  • Developing user authentication and authorization (JWT, OTP-based login, session management)
  • Implementing logic, user discovery algorithms, preference-based filters
  • Building real-time chat and messaging systems with cloud services for efficient delivery and read receipts
  • Integrating Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) for push notifications across iOS and Android platforms
  • Designing and managing MongoDB schema optimized for high-performance matchmaking and chat use cases
  • Ensuring secure API access using industry best practices (HTTPS, role-based access)
  • Handling media uploads securely via cloud storage (e.g. Firebase, AWS S3)
  • Implementing analytics hooks for key user actions and behavior tracking (events, funnels)
  • Building APIs for user moderation, reporting, and flagging systems
  • Monitoring and maintaining API performance, database health, error logs, and uptime metrics
  • Collaborating with DevOps to set up CI/CD, monitoring, and auto-scaling backend infrastructure (e.g. Docker, PM2, or cloud functions)
  • Managing environment configurations securely with secrets handling
  • Building fallback systems to handle network failures, retries, and message queueing
  • Writing clean, modular, and testable code with unit/integration tests for critical backend logic
Requirements:
  • 3+ years experience in backend development with Node.js, Firebase, and MongoDB
  • Strong understanding of token-based authentication and security practices
  • Experience building scalable, real-time chat or messaging systems
  • Familiarity with cloud storage and services (Firebase, AWS S3)
  • Solid knowledge of CI/CD, monitoring, and application scaling
  • Clear communication skills for technical documentation and cross-functional collaboration
