Electrolyzer Power Electronics Engineering Lead

About the Role:

  • This position will lead the technical direction of power electronics systems for high-efficiency electrolyzers, driving innovation and cost-effectiveness.
  • You will define and own the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for these systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with commercial requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement power electronics designs that meet efficiency, reliability, and scalability targets for 10 kW to >5 MW applications.
  • Lead the recruitment, mentorship, and management of a multidisciplinary team of power electronics engineers and technicians.
  • Evaluate and manage relationships with component vendors, contract manufacturers, and external design partners to ensure optimal system-level performance.
  • Cultivate a culture of innovation, prioritizing continuous learning and improvement in power electronics technology.
  • Develop and maintain firmware architecture, coding standards, testing, and release processes to ensure high reliability and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with systems and stack engineering to align control strategies with electrolyzer operational requirements.

Requirements:

  • Proven expertise in power electronics engineering, with a strong understanding of high-efficiency rectifier and DC-DC converter systems.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with experience managing cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks, including grid codes, EMC/EMI standards, UL, IEC, IEEE, and other relevant certifications.
