Job Overview

The role of a Hardware Design Engineer involves spearheading the development of hardware architecture and component selection for cutting-edge automotive audio systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for selecting and recommending semiconductor solutions, designing electronic components and systems, ensuring high-quality sound and seamless integration with vehicle technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive HW architecture and component selection for the next generation automotive audio system.
  • Select and recommend next-generation semiconductor solutions for automotive audio.
  • Design and develop electronic components and systems that power car audio systems.
  • Work closely with vehicle architecture/system design, safety engineers & buyers/purchasers to ensure chosen components meet performance, reliability, and cost requirements.
  • Recommend electronic audio components, including Audio amplifiers, Microphone interface/Audio ADC, Audio DSP, Audio power circuitry/PMIC, Speaker interface, Digital audio interfaces (A2B, Ethernet, etc).
  • Collaborate with silicon vendor partners to drive design features and technology roadmaps.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics, Telecommunication, or equivalent engineering disciplines.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in automotive embedded electronics designs or hardware/system architectural roles.
  • Knowledge of In-Vehicle Infotainment Systems, Audio Systems, Automotive Vehicle Connectivity Systems, and ECU design, development, and testing.
  • Strong teamwork spirit, excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the automotive industry (OEM, TIER1, TIER2).
  • Understanding and knowledge of Board software/Bring-up software, Audio DSP, and MCUs.
  • Knowledge of safety standards including ISO 26262, Euro NAP, and Security regulations would be an asset.
