Role Overview

We are seeking a talented Visual Content Creator to join our team.

This role requires selecting and implementing media assets that enhance video content while maintaining alignment with narrative and client guidelines.

This position demands excellent visual storytelling instincts, meticulous attention to detail, and strong media selection skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Search for high-quality video and image assets from media partners and free usage catalogues that align perfectly with article content and client brand guidelines.
  • Prioritize videos over images, with preference for 16:9 aspect ratio content (using 9:16 only when necessary).
  • Ensure all selected media is current by filtering for recent assets.
  • Properly document and attribute media sources to maintain licensing compliance.

Content Quality Management:

  • Verify that all media used is contextually relevant to the content.
  • Ensure precise matching when featuring specific people, events, or teams.
  • Maintain contextual accuracy between narrative and visual elements.
  • Develop creative solutions when exact media matches aren't available.
  • Avoid misleading visual contexts that contradict the narrative message.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in video production, digital content creation, or media curation.
  • Strong visual storytelling instincts and understanding of narrative alignment.
  • Excellent research skills for finding specific, relevant media assets.
  • Proficiency with stock media platforms and free usage catalogues.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and quality.
  • Understanding of different video formats and aspect ratios.
  • Ability to work efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.

Preferred Skills:

  • Background in journalism, media studies, or related fields.
  • Experience with media asset management systems.
  • Knowledge of brand guidelines implementation in video content.
  • Understanding of media licensing and proper attribution practices.
