Job Title: Vendor Operations Strategist

This leadership position is responsible for overseeing and optimizing Vendor Setup & Maintenance operations.

">

The successful candidate will lead a team of professionals who manage accurate vendor creation, enabling timely payments. This role involves identifying payment & operational improvements, implementing changes, and maintaining strong partnerships with SSC-M partners, Invoice processing/Pay audit teams, and vendors.

">

Key responsibilities include designing and implementing operational strategies, management reporting structures that drive timely payment reconciliation, ensuring compliance with internal & external control/governance, building connections across upstream teams to deliver key business objectives, and driving cross-functional projects with efficiency.

">

Additional duties involve driving team engagement, member development in a fast-paced environment, creating a culture that delivers a great experience for associates and guests, and recruiting, managing, and developing a strong performance-oriented team.

">

The ideal candidate will have 10-12 years' experience in retail accounting & accounts payable, with 2-3 years of supervisory experience. A Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting & Finance) degree is required. The successful candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of vendor master management, accounting, leadership, problem-solving, and process improvement.

Primary skills include RPA, data analytics, ability to handle multiple projects, attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to challenge processes & decisions. Experience with ERP & data warehouse systems, such as SAP, Oracle, or Mainframe, is also essential.

Secondary skills include proficiency in MS Tools.

">

 

Responsibilities:

">

• Review daily workload management, assigning goals & responsibility to the team, adhering to SLA & TAT, and complying with internal/external control.

">

• Plan, forecast, and execute weekly/monthly deadlines to ensure relevant reports are published with audit findings.

">

• Continuously evaluate financial risks and develop comprehensive risk-based audit plans for existing processes and new transitions.

">

• Strategize, define, and implement team processes, policies, procedures, and best practices.

">

• Serve as the first point of contact for internal teams on issues impacting timely and accurate vendor payments.

">

• Proactively communicate financial risk findings to leaders, partners, and team members.

">

• Create training roadmaps to ensure team training needs are met and all process gaps and controls are addressed in a timely manner.

">

• Support hiring needs by conducting interviews.

">

• Coach, develop, and counsel team and associate members to facilitate individual development.

">

• Administer timely performance reviews and ensure high-quality team member performance and adherence to policies and procedures.

">

• Maintain a highly engaged team capable of playing a larger role towards organizational success.

">

• Work on special projects as assigned.

">

• Possess working knowledge of accounts payable, vendor master data, enabling EFT.

">

• Identify potential risks associated with setting up vendors and phishing attempts to change vendor banking details.

">

• Serve as the primary contact for SSCM relating to the above-mentioned processes.

">

• Maintain seamless communication channels with relevant stakeholders.
