Job Title: Database Administrator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Database Administrator with expertise in Mainframe IMS DBA to perform strategic database management and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer large-scale IMS databases on z/OS platform, ensuring high performance and reliability.
  • Design and implement efficient database structures, utilizing technical knowledge and best practices.
  • Optimize database performance by identifying bottlenecks and implementing effective solutions.
  • Guarantee data integrity, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements through meticulous analysis and execution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical issues and drive project success.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in Mainframe IMS DBA, with at least 5 years of experience in IMS v15 and 16 on z/OS.
  • Strong knowledge of IMS database administration, including design, alteration, and migration.
  • Expertise in creating DBDs, PSBs, ACBs, and managing DASD/Tape storage for optimal efficiency.
  • Familiarity with IMS upgradation/migration, capacity planning, and performance tuning to meet business needs.
  • Proficiency in IMS utilities, HALDB, debugging, and troubleshooting skills to ensure seamless operations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Tivoli, Omegamons, Query Manager, Transaction Analysis Workbench, BMC Performance Management Suite, and IBM Application Performance Analyzer.
