API Sourcing Professional

About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned API sourcing professional to oversee procurement activities for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and qualify API suppliers globally in alignment with client requirements.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and supply agreements with vendors to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
  • Manage end-to-end procurement processes, including request for quotations (RFQs), purchase orders, and supply contracts.
  • Monitor supplier performance, compliance, and adherence to quality, delivery, and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Track market trends, supply risks, and alternative sourcing options to maintain a reliable supply base.
  • Build long-term relationships with suppliers to foster trust and partnership.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in API sourcing, procurement, or supplier management within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Understanding of global regulatory requirements for API sourcing.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a client-facing environment.

This role requires a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, as well as exceptional analytical and communication skills. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing procurement processes and building strong relationships with suppliers.
