Indirect Tax Litigation Role

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Senior Associate in Indirect Tax Litigation. This role will involve handling tax matters, including preparation of submissions, replies to notices, appeals, and representation during meetings with tax authorities.

  • Key responsibilities include:
  • Preparing and submitting tax-related documents, such as responses to show cause notices and audit replies.
  • Meeting with tax officers to discuss various tax-related issues.
  • Assisting clients in responding to department inquiries, investigations, and audits.
  • Preparing tax appeals to be filed at the Joint Commissioner (Appeals) and Court levels.

Client service delivery is also a key aspect of this role, requiring you to identify technical issues and discuss them with clients while being mindful of firm risk issues. You will also be responsible for developing commercial acumen by staying up-to-date with firm-wide and competitor activities, as well as general business trends.

Additionally, you will have opportunities to network within the peer group and other levels of the firm to gain understanding of issues that may impact clients. This role also requires strong analytical and researching skills, excellent communication and drafting skills, and the ability to stay abreast with the latest developments in tax and other laws.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Law Graduate from a known Law School with a strong academic track record
  • 1-3 years of post-qualification experience in Indirect Tax would be preferred i.e. GST, Customs, etc
  • Excellent Communication and Drafting Skills
  • Strong Analytical and researching skills
  • Proactive, reliable and with an attention to details
