Job Title: Senior Business Analyst

Description

The Senior Business Analyst will play a key role in the Institutional Business team, facilitating requirement elicitation, data querying, and analysis activities for the Institutional function in India.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design solutions for institutional business, leveraging technical and functional expertise.
  • Capture and clarify business requirements through analysis techniques, including data flow diagrams, case tool analysis, and gap analysis.
  • Obtain agreement on business analysis deliverables, ensuring they meet institutional business requirements and tracking them across multiple systems.
  • Guide and mentor junior team members, promoting knowledge sharing and development.
  • Work with business leads to identify, define, and clarify complex business and systems requirements.
  • Assess potential solutions for technical and business suitability, feasibility, and effectiveness.
  • Develop hands-on knowledge of web application/UI design, supporting business and technology teams in data analysis.
  • Act as a proxy customer with development teams, facilitating open communication between customers and development teams.
  • Drive user acceptance criteria with customers, ensuring alignment with business requirements.
  • Stay abreast of emerging products and industry standards in the Business Analysis arena, leveraging knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA and Confluence.
  • Apply knowledge of SQL for data querying and analysis, with a focus on in-depth data analysis for client reports and dashboards.
  • Utilize MS Office products like Visio and Excel to support business analysis and data analysis activities.

Experience and Qualifications

  • 4-6 years of relevant business analysis experience, preferably in a financial services firm.
  • Good knowledge of database and reporting technologies, including SQL and data modeling.
  • Well-versed in concepts around mutual funds, stock markets, securities, and derivatives.
  • Knowledge of fund accounting, fund performance, attribution, and risk measures is desirable.
  • Experience with structured software development life-cycle methodologies, preferably Agile or Iterative development.
  • Ability to work with multi-cultural teams in a geographically diverse environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think laterally and arrive at effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with a focus on developing and maintaining good relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong customer awareness, with the ability to manage customer expectations and deliver high-quality results.
