Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the machine shop, ensuring timely and high-quality production using advanced machinery like 5-axis VMCs, HMCs, and grinding machines.
  • Implement efficient workflow strategies and production schedules to maximize machine utilization and minimize downtime.
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of skilled CNC machinists, programmers, and operators.
  • Maintain adherence to safety, quality, and compliance standards (ISO 9001).
  • Monitor key performance indicators and generate reports on productivity, efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues and streamline operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives aligned with lean manufacturing principles.
  • Manage tooling, fixtures, and raw material inventory required for machining operations.
  • Ensure all equipment is in optimal working condition by overseeing maintenance schedules.
  • Participate in recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of production staff.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a supervisory/management role in a CNC machine shop.
  • Strong expertise in 5-axis CNC machining processes, tooling, and CAD/CAM software preferred.
  • Excellent understanding of CNC programming and CNC machine operation.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and production planning tools.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with 5-Axis Machining/Aerospace Industry is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • ISO 9001 Quality Systems knowledge.
