Lead Steel Plant Engineering

Job Overview:

As a pivotal figure in overseeing engineering activities, you will drive project execution and technical excellence in large-scale steel plant projects.

  • Engineering Strategy: Develop and implement overall engineering strategy for steel plant projects, aligning with project goals, schedule, and cost control measures.
  • Conceptual Design: Lead conceptual design, feasibility studies, and detailed engineering phases to ensure cohesive and optimized plant design.
  • Contractor Management: Participate in selection and management of EPC contractors, consultants, and vendors to achieve project objectives.
  • Engineering Integration: Ensure seamless integration of all engineering disciplines for effective project execution.
  • Code Compliance: Verify that engineering designs comply with relevant national and international codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Quality Control: Implement robust quality control procedures to ensure engineering outputs meet project requirements.
  • Value Engineering: Drive value engineering initiatives to optimize design, reduce costs, and enhance plant performance.
  • Schedule and Budget Management: Manage engineering schedule and budget, identifying potential deviations and implementing corrective actions.
  • Project Execution: Coordinate with procurement, construction, and operations teams for smooth project execution.
  • Troubleshooting: Oversee resolution of technical issues and challenges during project phases.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in engineering (Metallurgical, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering preferred). Master's degree in engineering or business administration is a plus.

Experience: Minimum 20-25 years of progressive experience in engineering roles within heavy industrial projects, with at least 5-10 years in leadership/head of engineering capacity for steel plant projects.
