Senior Program Manager, Sustainable Agriculture, Food, Land and Water Program Specialist

The Senior Program Manager, Sustainable Agriculture, Food, Land and Water Program, will lead the development of a proof of concept at sub-national agroclimatic zone levels for the implementation of the Doubling of Farmer Incomes report and agriculture support programs within the framework of the National Mission for Sustainable Agriculture, using agroecological principles, in partnership with select state governments and farmers.
This position aims to test the proof of concept at a landscape level in an identified state to identify existing barriers, enabling conditions, and policy and administrative gaps for implementing sustainable agriculture in India, benefiting farmers, ecology, and the dependent population.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and designing research on policies, schemes, and recommendations on sustainable agriculture in India and sub-national levels, developing analytical frameworks, research designs, and landscape-level plans and detailed project reports.
This role also involves incorporating gender and social inclusion in knowledge products developed for the program, working with the team to identify sectors and segments to be included in landscape-level sustainable agriculture plans in identified states and districts with cost-benefit analysis, and facilitating research on sectors and opportunities to repurpose perverse incentives at the state level.
In addition, the Senior Program Manager will plan, coordinate, and implement program objectives with external partners, including government partners, and develop governance modalities for program implementation.
The ideal candidate should have a master's degree in agriculture, understanding of sustainable agricultural practices, and familiarity with related policies, schemes, and programs in India and at sub-national levels, especially for central India.
Additionally, the candidate should have at least 10-12 years of experience in program management on agriculture, managing multi-partner programs, and demonstrated ability to work with efficiency as part of a team effort, and experience working with diverse partners.
The successful candidate will be comfortable with interdisciplinary, inter-programmatic, geographically dispersed teams, and should be able to present complex information, track record in partner engagement, preparing program reports, and developing work plans.
The salary range for this position is INR 20,00,000 to INR 24,00,000 CTC, and the location is New Delhi, India. The position is a one-year contract, extendable based on performance and project requirements.
