Job Description

This is a managerial role overseeing the development and maintenance of tools used in various manufacturing processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating with design and production teams to develop new tools that meet product and process requirements.

The ideal candidate should have strong organizational skills, ability to work under pressure, and excellent communication skills. They should also be able to analyze complex data, identify areas of improvement, and implement changes to increase efficiency and productivity.

The job involves overseeing the end-to-end tool-making process, including dies, jigs, fixtures, and molds. The manager should ensure adherence to tight tolerances and quality standards while optimizing tool manufacturing timelines and cost without compromising quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • 1. Tool Design & Development: Coordinate with design and production teams for new tool development based on product and process requirements.
  • 2. Tool Manufacturing & Tool Making: Oversee the end-to-end tool-making process, including dies, jigs, fixtures, and molds.
  • 3. Tool Maintenance & Repair: Develop preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for all tools.
  • 4. Team Management: Supervise tool makers, tool maintenance technicians, and support staff.
  • 5. Inventory and Documentation: Maintain inventory of tools, tool components, and raw materials.
  • 6. Continuous Improvement & Cost Optimization: Drive Kaizen, Lean, and 5S initiatives within the tool room.
  • 7. Cross-functional Coordination: Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and NPD teams.
  • 8. Compliance & Safety: Ensure all tooling operations follow safety and quality standards.
