Database Tester Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced professional to fill a Database Tester position.

The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of SQL-based testing, backend validation, and data-intensive application testing. They should be able to design and execute complex test cases focused on database and backend validation, including writing, executing, and optimizing SQL queries.

In addition, they should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail, as well as excellent communication skills for interacting with stakeholders and handling client discussions independently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and execute test cases for database and backend validation
  • Write, execute, and optimize SQL queries for business logic, data integrity, and workflow validation
  • Perform data validation and reconciliation between source and target systems using Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
  • Collaborate with developers, DBAs, and business analysts to clarify requirements and resolve issues
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in QA with a strong focus on database testing
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, including writing and optimizing queries, joins, stored procedures, and functions
  • Strong experience in data validation and reconciliation across multiple systems
  • At least mid-level knowledge of Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, lookups, data validation, reporting)
  • Familiarity with test management and bug tracking tools (JIRA, TestRail, or similar)
