Project Overview:

Bechtel is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Systems Engineer to join our Project Management Consultant (PMC) team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading electrical engineering efforts on a multi-billion-dollar renewables and infrastructure project in India.

Job Summary:

The Electrical Systems Engineer will work closely with the project team to design, develop, and implement electrical systems for the project. This includes evaluating and selecting standard electrical engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria to prepare and review conceptual studies, detailed systems studies, and designs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepares or assists in the preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports, or proposals.
  • Evaluates, selects, and applies standard electrical engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria to prepare and review conceptual studies, detailed systems studies, and designs.
  • Designs, develops, modifies, and evaluates components and processes used in the generation, manipulation, transmission, and storage of electricity utilizing relevant design standards and guides.
  • Coordinates electrical engineering efforts in assigned areas with specialty groups, engineering disciplines, the client, vendor, contractors, construction, and other functional groups.
  • Provides technical assistance and interacts with project functions, the customer, and regulatory agency personnel in the resolution of complex regulatory issues.
  • Provides assistance to project and construction management in identifying and complying with project electrical requirements and in addressing issues as they arise during project execution.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, with a strong background in electrical system studies, design, and implementation. The candidate should be conversant with short circuit, load flow, and voltage drop calculations, relay setting, and protection coordination of the system. Knowledge of software like ETAP/PSCAD/SKM, ETAP STAR, etc., is also essential.
