Remote VFX Mentor Position

We are a reputable animation studio seeking a highly skilled Remote VFX Mentor to join our team. As a seasoned professional, you will provide expert guidance and training to our artists, helping them achieve exceptional results in visual effects.

The role of VFX Supervisor is crucial in guiding our artists to meet client expectations. Your experience as a VFX Artist in global cinema will provide valuable insights to our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive training programs on Houdini Software, covering basic to advanced levels, with a focus on making the learning process easy and engaging.
  • Educate artists on RBD Fracture Simulation, Cloth Simulation, Water Simulation, Fire Simulation, Crowd Simulation, Grain Simulation, and Plant Instance Simulation as top priorities.
  • Teach artists how to create convincing Lookdev to meet client requirements.
  • Offer solutions for integrating Houdini with Autodesk Maya and Blender or vice versa.
  • Deliver effective teaching to boost individual skills among in-house VFX Artists.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a VFX Supervisor in film, animation, or TV series.
  • Deep understanding of the overall VFX workflow and production process.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with Houdini.
  • In-depth knowledge of compositing principles (Nuke preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of the Blender workflow is a plus.
  • Portfolio showcasing exceptional skills and creative approach.
  • Solid understanding of 3D modeling, lighting, and rendering techniques in Maya or Houdini.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Artistic skills with high attention to detail.
  • Enthusiasm and creativity.
  • Proficiency in English language.

Working Conditions:

  • Part-time position, approximately 5-10 hours/week.
  • Work remotely only.
  • Paid hourly/weekly (flexible).
