  • Conduct thorough assessments of existing bridges, preparing comprehensive reports with expertise in Steel Composite and Pretension/Posttension structures.

  • Carry out feasibility studies for strengthening and repair of bridges.
  • Design and prepare new bridge designs and strengthening designs to UK standards, ensuring adherence to appropriate design and health and safety standards, as well as WSP WoW procedures.
  • Perform design and assessment checks (Cat II or Cat III) under the guidance of a Senior or Principal Engineer.
  • Compile drawings, specifications, reports, and correspondence within given deadlines, ensuring compliance with the project brief.
  • Follow QA, document control, archiving & CDM guidelines on all work.

  • Implement document control and QA processes correctly for issue and filing/archiving of all work carried out.
  • Produce work to specified WSP design standards, suggesting revisions as necessary.
  • Ensure all relevant standards and guides are used in accordance with UK Design standards and WSP QA processes (WoW).
  • Maintain compliance with AIP or other project requirements.
  • Utilize WSP calculation templates and ensure calculation sheets comply with WSP standards.
  • Access WSP Technical library and Information systems to assist design work.
  • Use only the latest version (unless specifically required by AIP) of British and European Standards.
  • Continuously develop skills in MIDAS, LUSAS, Superstress, SAM, ARCHIE, and share knowledge with colleagues.
  • Participate in team meetings and learning sessions to disseminate information within the team, and communicate with other teams in WSP.
  • Foster a 'First Time Right' culture - learn from own and others' mistakes to avoid repetition.
