Head of Intellectual Property Protection

This role focuses on driving a culture of intellectual property awareness and protection within our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Review designs for potential intellectual property risks, develop strategies to mitigate these risks, and implement best practices to strengthen the technology development process.
  2. Develop search strategies and conduct thorough analyses for freedom to operate, state-of-the-art searches, and invalidation/opposition searches across various jurisdictions.
  3. Perform advanced patent and competitor portfolio analysis, leveraging tools like data analytics and IT systems for effective search and analysis of intellectual property.
  4. Collaborate with IP attorneys, legal associates, and design teams to ensure timely review and recommendation of freedom-to-operate decisions.
  5. Conduct regular BOM FTO reviews, implement standardized processes, and enhance productivity through digitalization.
  6. Release periodic IP alerts, address stakeholder concerns, and effectively manage projects/business clusters independently.
  7. Plan and execute searches for SOA, FTO, litigation, and invalidation/opposition in coordination with legal associates.
  8. Resolve claim interpretation issues with stakeholders, maintain confidentiality, and systematically document IP matters.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate/PG/PhD qualification in Engineering (Mechanical/Electronics/Automotive/Material Science)
  • WON certificate is an advantage
  • Qualification in IP Law is advantageous
