Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Director – Legal to join our organization. This role will be responsible for providing legal guidance and support to our business teams, ensuring that we operate in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technology and commercial contracting, with experience in areas such as data privacy and intellectual property. They will also possess excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior leaders and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing legal guidance and support to business teams on commercial contracts, product launches, and marketing communications
  • Advising on AI governance, data usage, licensing, and responsible AI frameworks
  • Shaping internal policies around responsible and ethical AI practices
  • Protecting and commercializing IP, algorithms, and proprietary datasets
  • Leading implementation of data privacy and cybersecurity frameworks
  • Managing regulatory risks and disputes, and external counsel strategy
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • LL.B. (LL.M. preferred) with 12–16 years PQE across law firms and in-house roles
  • Strong experience in technology/AI, data privacy, and commercial contracting; exposure to consumer-facing industries is a plus
  • Expertise in DPDP, GDPR, AI regulation, consumer law, and commercial negotiations
  • Exceptional ability to balance legal risk with business agility
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills; experience building or mentoring legal teams is an advantage
