Cloud Services Engineer Role
This role is ideal for individuals who want to work in a challenging and dynamic environment where they can utilize their technical expertise to deliver excellent services to clients.
The Cloud Services Engineer will be responsible for providing managed services to clients by identifying and resolving cloud-based incidents and problems. They will also be required to conduct pre-emptive service incident and resolution activities, as well as product reviews, operational improvements, operational practices, and quality assurance.
Key responsibilities of the role include ensuring that assigned infrastructure at client sites is configured, installed, tested, and operational. The engineer will also perform necessary checks, apply monitoring tools, and respond to alerts. Additionally, they will identify problems and errors prior to or when they occur and log all such incidents in a timely manner with the required level of detail.
The Cloud Services Engineer may also assist in analyzing, assigning, and escalating support calls. They will investigate third-line support calls assigned and identify the root cause of incidents and problems. Furthermore, they will report and escalate issues to 3rd party vendors if necessary.
The engineer will provide onsite technical support to clients and provide field engineering services to clients. They will also conduct a monthly random review of incidents and service requests, analyze and recommend improvement in quality. Additionally, they will provide continuous feedback to clients and affected parties and update all systems and/or portals as prescribed by the company.
Requirements for this role include a bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Information Technology/Computing (or demonstrated equivalent work experience). Relevant certifications such as VMware certified Professional: Data Centre Virtualization, VMware Certified Specialist - Cloud Provider, etc. are also essential. Seasoned work experience in an Engineering function within a medium to large ICT organization is also required.
