Portfolio Management Opportunities:

Eligibility requirements for portfolio managers are as follows:

  • A corporate entity must possess necessary infrastructure like office space, equipment and personnel.
  • The chief officer should have a professional qualification in law, finance, accountancy or business management, or have completed the CFA program.
  • He should have at least five years of experience in related activities within the securities market, including portfolio management, stock brokerage, investment advisement or research analysis, or as a fund manager.

The applicant should have:

  • Obtained NISM XXI-B certification.
  • Employed at least one person who is a graduate with at least two years of experience in related activities within the securities market.
  • A net worth of at least Rs. 5 crores.
  • Not involved in any litigation or convicted of any offence involving moral turpitude.
  • A fit and proper person according to SEBI (Intermediaries) Regulations, 2008.

Application Form A will need to be submitted to SEBI along with the required fees. The fee structure is: Application fee - INR 1 lakh, Registration fee - INR 10 lakhs, Renewal fee - INR 5 lakhs every 3 years.
