Investment Counsellor Job Description

This is a dynamic role that requires the ability to build strong relationships with clients and provide tailored investment advice.   • About the Role:
    • We are seeking an experienced Investment Counsellor to join our team. As an Investment Counsellor, you will be responsible for managing client relationships, providing investment advice, and implementing tailored investment strategies.
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Client Consultation and Relationship Management:
      • Clients will look to you as their primary point of contact for investment-related inquiries and advice. You will need to have excellent communication skills to build trust and rapport with your clients.
      • You will regularly review and update clients' investment portfolios to ensure alignment with their evolving financial goals and market conditions.
    • Investment Strategy Development:
      • You will create customized investment strategies and asset allocation plans based on clients' objectives, risk profiles, and financial situations.
      • You will utilize financial modelling and forecasting tools to analyse investment opportunities and recommend appropriate investment products.
    • Portfolio Management:
      • You will oversee clients' investment portfolios, including monitoring performance, rebalancing, and making adjustments as necessary.
    • Compliance and Reporting:
      • You will ensure all investment recommendations and transactions comply with regulatory requirements and firm policies.
      • You will prepare and present regular performance reports and updates to clients, including performance metrics, market insights, and portfolio changes.
    • Client Education and Communication:
      • You will educate clients on investment concepts, market trends, and financial planning strategies to help them make informed decisions.
      • You will provide clear and timely communication regarding investment performance, market developments, and potential impacts on clients' portfolios.
  • Qualifications and Skills:
    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CFP) preferred.
    • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in investment management, financial planning, or a related field.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a deep understanding of financial markets and investment products.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
    • Proficiency in financial software, portfolio management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
    • High level of attention to detail and accuracy in financial analysis and reporting.
    • Personal Attributes: Integrity, professionalism, and a client-centric approach. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
