Job Title: Data Insights Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and resolve data quality, lineage, and control issues to ensure accuracy and reliability of our datasets.
  • Design and build scalable data pipelines using Python and SQL to automate data flow and processing, meeting the needs of various stakeholders.
  • Conduct thorough data cleansing, transformation, and validation activities to identify trends and patterns in large datasets.
  • Apply machine learning and AI techniques to solve complex operational problems, streamlining business processes and improving efficiency.
  • Oversee data governance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to regulatory frameworks like BCBS 239, maintaining high standards of compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Risk, Compliance, Technology, and Business to deliver actionable insights, driving informed decision-making.
  • Document and report on data issues and improvements, supporting audit and control frameworks, and promoting transparency and accountability.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in Data Management, Data Governance, and Data Quality within a financial services environment, preferably in Financial Crime or Fraud.
  • Strong understanding of risk and control frameworks, including enterprise risk and operational risk.
  • Practical knowledge of BCBS 239 principles and related frameworks, with a proven track record of implementation.
  • Proficiency in tools and technologies such as Python, Tableau, Power Apps, Alteryx, and SQL, with hands-on experience in data analytics.
  • Familiarity with structured and unstructured data analytics, with a strong focus on statistical modeling and data visualization.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills, with experience in leading data-driven initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of financial crime and fraud data domains, with a deep understanding of industry trends and best practices.
