Job Title: Senior Data Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled data professional to spearhead the development and implementation of an innovative application for a leading retailer.

The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in coding with Python and PySpark, as well as expertise in telemetry, big data, and backend engineering. A strong understanding of IoT systems, particularly refrigeration units, HVAC systems, controllers, and sensors, is highly desirable.

The successful applicant will be responsible for working closely with business partners to implement feedback and drive business analytics. They will also contribute to the design and monitoring of IoT systems, including equipment and systems from Emerson, Honeywell, or similar.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop scalable data architectures using Python and PySpark.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement business analytics solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of streaming applications with real-time analytics and data processing capabilities.
  • Participate in system design reviews and ensure alignment with business objectives.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on Python, PySpark, and SQL.
  • Hands-on experience with Telemetry, Big Data, and backend engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of IoT systems, including refrigeration units, HVAC systems, controllers, and sensors.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
