Job Title: Lead Interpretation Geologist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Interpretation Geologist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing integrated interpretation of available geo-science data, building robust geological models, and generating multiple development scenarios.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Stratigraphic/Coal Seam Correlations and Structural Interpretation: Review and analyze stratigraphic and coal seam correlations, structural interpretations, and quality control of various geological and seam parameter maps.
  • Geo-Cellular Modeling: Build static geo-cellular models incorporating available data from the field.
  • Volumetric Estimation: Perform volumetric estimations in multiple cases, capturing the range of uncertainties.
  • OGIIP Estimations: Quality control map-based and model-based OGIIP estimations.
  • Development Scenarios: Generate alternate development scenarios based on well type, spacing, and other factors.
  • Well Trajectories and Prognosis: Review geological prognosis and well trajectories for development drilling.
  • Operations Support: Provide operational decision support during geo-steering/drilling operations and support the Ops Geology team.
  • Business Development: Provide technical inputs for business development plans.
  • Data Acquisition: Plan and acquire geological data to bridge data gaps and reduce uncertainty through enhanced field understanding.
  • Petrotechnical Analysis: Support pre- and post-drill petrotechnical analysis.
  • Dynamic Simulation: Support the RE team during dynamic simulation.
  • Coring Measurements: Quality control onsite and lab measurements on cores for coal characterization.
  • CBM Data Package Evaluation: Evaluate CBM data packages from regulatory bodies or prospective sellers for block acquisition or farming-in.
  • SUBSurface Deliverables: Review and quality control subsurface deliverables from third-party SME studies.
  • Risk/Uncertainty Matrix: Generate an integrated subsurface description and risk/uncertainty matrix.
  • Cross-Functional Communication: Communicate with cross-functional teams such as Projects, FC&A, P&C, D&C, etc., for all planning and execution related to Operations and Development.
  • Tech Evaluation/Recommendation: Review scope of works and provide technical evaluation/recommendation for procuring materials/services of Sub-surface.
