Job Purpose

To support and empower students with diverse learning needs by developing and implementing Individualised Education Plans (IEPs), encouraging inclusive classroom practices, and collaborating with teachers, parents, and the school community to ensure the holistic development of every learner.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

  • Identify, assess, and support students with learning differences, disabilities, or special needs.
  • Collaborate with subject teachers to adapt curriculum content, teaching methods, and classroom strategies to support inclusive education.
  • Promote a safe, supportive, and positive learning environment that encourages student independence and confidence.
  • Develop and implement Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) with clear goals and strategies.
  • Contribute to school-wide initiatives that promote inclusivity and accessibility in learning.
  • Encourage positive relationships with students to support their emotional and social well-being.
  • Support school events, awareness programs, and activities related to inclusivity.

Professional Development

  • Stay updated with the latest developments, best practices, and tools in special education.
  • Participate actively in school-led training, workshops, and external professional development opportunities.
  • Provide training or guidance to colleagues to strengthen inclusive teaching practices across the school.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or equivalent qualification.
  • B.Ed in Special Education (desirable).
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Special Educator in a school setting (international or progressive school experience preferred).
  • Experience working collaboratively with faculty, students, and parents.
  • Proficiency in using assistive technologies and inclusive teaching strategies.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive school culture.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a diverse faculty team.
