The role involves thorough research and analysis to identify credit risk in securities by reviewing deal documents, analyzing periodic data, and setting up net cash flow templates. You will also collect, organize, and analyze data from internal and external sources for use in criteria development, ratings, and research reports.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and analyzing risky assets based on qualitative and quantitative factors
  • Monitoring, analysis, and executive summary reporting on transactions, including investigation of potential default or loss scenarios for underlying real estate loan collateral
  • Compiling and preparing portfolio reports for use by senior staff and identifying material changes for research purposes
  • Maintaining regular and open communication with the operations team and technology team about assigned tasks, priorities, and ensuring applications under development meet defined requirements and pass user acceptance testing prior to release

Requirements include:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a credit research domain with knowledge of CMBS and experience at a rating agency is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or Management Studies; Masters, CFA, or CFA program enrollment are a plus
  • Fluent English skills with good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Highly motivated, self-starter with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at once and deliver results in a timely manner
