Leading Database Expert

As a senior database administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our database infrastructure. This includes working closely with application teams to ship solutions that integrate seamlessly with our database systems.
You will analyze solutions and implement best practices for supported datastores, primarily MySQL and PostgreSQL. Your role will also involve developing and enforcing best practices for database security, backup, and recovery.
Additionally, you will work on the observability of relevant database metrics and ensure we reach our database objectives. You will provide database expertise to engineering teams, such as through reviews of database migrations, queries, and performance optimizations.
Furthermore, you will work with peers, including DevOps and Application Engineers, to roll out changes to our production environment and help mitigate database-related production incidents. You will also work on automation of database infrastructure and help engineering succeed by providing self-service tools.
Finally, you will be on-call support on rotation with the team and support and debug database production issues across services and levels of the stack.
