Chief Cybersecurity Officer: Enterprise Threat Detection

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Vision: Define the enterprise-wide threat detection strategy in alignment with organizational security objectives and evolving threat landscapes.
  • Threat Detection Engineering: Lead the design, development, and deployment of high-fidelity, scalable threat detection mechanisms across on-premises, cloud, and SaaS environments.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee detection content lifecycle, minimize false positives while maintaining high sensitivity, and establish detection health monitoring and reporting frameworks for continuous improvement.
  • Leadership & Team Management: Mentor senior engineers and analysts, building a pipeline of next-generation detection experts, and drive security awareness and detection-readiness initiatives.

This role demands strategic vision, hands-on technical expertise, and exceptional leadership skills to defend complex hybrid infrastructures against evolving cyber threats. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years in cybersecurity, leading threat detection/engineering teams in complex enterprise environments, and strong grasp of adversary TTPs, MITRE ATT&CK, and emerging attack vectors. An effective leader must be able to develop a comprehensive threat intelligence strategy to safeguard business assets. This includes creating an incident response plan that ensures timely remediation and minimal disruption to operations.

The ideal candidate will have experience in designing, implementing, and managing advanced threat detection systems, as well as developing and executing strategies to mitigate emerging threats. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential to staying ahead of evolving cyber threats. Additionally, the ability to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders is critical to driving business outcomes.

A key responsibility of this role is to stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in cybersecurity, applying this knowledge to inform strategic decisions and improve the organization's overall security posture. Experience with security frameworks such as NIST or ISO 27001 would be beneficial in ensuring compliance and regulatory adherence.
