Platform Engineer Job Opportunity

We're seeking a highly skilled Platform Engineer to join our API Platform Engineering team. As a key member of the team, you'll play a crucial role in enabling teams across the company to build and integrate APIs efficiently.

Your primary focus will be on designing and implementing API resources within AWS, ensuring seamless integration with cloud engineering teams and stakeholders. Additionally, you'll work closely with development teams to define API standards, governance, and best practices.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to improve API security, monitoring, logging, and observability to ensure platform reliability. You'll also collaborate with automation efforts for infrastructure provisioning, CI/CD pipelines, and deployments.

To excel in this position, you should have experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, with some exposure to API Gateway, Lambda, and IAM policies. Proficiency in programming languages like Python or Typescript is also essential, along with a willingness to learn clean and maintainable code practices.

You'll be expected to provide guidance and support to development teams on API design and integrations, as well as assist in defining API standards, governance, and best practices. If you're passionate about improving developer workflows and shaping API governance, we'd love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement API resources within AWS.
  • Collaborate with cloud engineering teams and stakeholders to address API challenges.

  • Support automation efforts for infrastructure provisioning, CI/CD pipelines, and deployments.
Requirements:
  • Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, with some exposure to API Gateway, Lambda, and IAM policies.
  • Programming skills in Python or Typescript, with a willingness to learn best practices for clean and maintainable code.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and practices.
  • Understanding of API security concepts, OAuth, JWT, etc., and a desire to learn more.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with API platforms, specifically AWS API Gateway or Apigee.
  • Foundational knowledge of RESTful and GraphQL API design principles, with an eagerness to grow in this area.
