Game Artist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled game artist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio showcasing 2D game art and UI work, proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma), and experience with visual hierarchy, readability, and accessibility.

This is a remote full-time/part-time opportunity that requires a minimum of 4 hours per day. We value creativity, collaboration, and effective communication. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating polished in-game art assets, designing UI asset packs, maintaining style guides, and collaborating with designers/PMs/engineers to ship on clear timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create 2D game art assets (characters, props, environments, VFX, icons) that meet the project's artistic vision
  • Design UI asset packs for mobile/web apps (components, states, layouts)
  • Maintain style guides and visual consistency across screens and states
  • Leverage AI to speed creative workflows (ideation, variations, textures, batch exports)
  • Collaborate with designers/PMs/engineers to ensure timely delivery

Requirements:

  • Strong portfolio showing 2D game art and UI work (links required)
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma)
  • Understanding of visual hierarchy, readability, and accessibility
  • Clean export/handoff: naming, slicing, densities, and asset optimisation

Preferred Skills:

  • Basics of Blender/Maya (blocking, UVs, simple lighting) or Unity/Unreal import
  • Motion/UI micro-interactions, particle/VFX, iconography
  • Prior work in EdTech/HealthTech/FinTech/Fitness products
