Job Title: Commercial Lending Specialist

Overview
The role of a Commercial Lending Specialist involves overseeing a team of analysts supporting the bank's commercial real estate lending operations. This position requires leadership, mentorship, and strategic planning skills to drive the success of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor analysts in processing loan applications, credit documentation, and portfolio management to ensure delivery in line with service level agreements and key performance indicators with high accuracy.
  • Track, review, and report team performance; conduct regular feedback and coaching to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Enforce adherence to lending policies, standards, and criteria to minimize risk and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Review and approve credit papers/documentation prior to submission to maintain high standards.
  • Support the use of front-end systems to monitor loan applications through approval for streamlined processes.
  • Act as the single point of contact for client stakeholders to manage escalations, provide operational updates, and lead process alignment discussions.
  • Foster transparent communication between teams to ensure seamless collaboration.
  • Oversee collaboration with risk management teams to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and client-specific policies to maintain a strong reputation.
  • Identify and implement initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality, and prepare and present performance reports, dashboards, and insights to stakeholders.
  • Conduct training on lending practices, compliance, and systems to educate team members and drive a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in finance, economics, business, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial lending, credit analysis, or financial services.
  • Proven experience in leading teams and working with clients to deliver results-driven solutions.
