Enterprise Data Protection Specialist

The primary function of this position is to guarantee the efficiency and integrity of corporate data protection systems.

  • Identify and rectify escalated issues in backup operations, specifically those involving Commvault.
  • Conduct regular performance assessments of NAS/SAN environments to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Validate, reconfigure, and troubleshoot RAID arrays and storage failures to prevent downtime.
  • Diagnose issues with NFS mounts, permissions, and connectivity to maintain a stable network environment.
  • Administer and audit Active Directory entries relevant to backup and access policies to ensure security and compliance.

Additionally, the Enterprise Data Protection Specialist will be responsible for architecting, administering, and optimizing enterprise backup and storage solutions. This includes handling critical incidents, designing recovery strategies, and mentoring junior engineers while ensuring security, scalability, and high availability of storage platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, configure, and optimize global deduplication and storage policies to minimize data loss.
  • Upgrade Commvault infrastructure (CommServe, Media Agents) to stay current with industry advancements.
  • Lead design and architecture of backup and optimization using Commvault backup solutions to ensure seamless data recovery.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain enterprise-wide data protection strategies.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation of all backup and storage procedures to ensure knowledge sharing among team members.
