Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Data Management Specialist to join our IT team. In this role, you will help develop and design technology solutions that meet business needs.

Main Responsibilities
  • Primary responsibility will be the management of production databases servers, including security, deployment, maintenance, and performance monitoring.
  • Setting up database replication, mirroring, and high availability as required across hybrid environments.
  • Design and implementation of new installations on cloud hosting platforms.
  • Deploy and maintain on-premise installations of SQL Server on Linux/ MySQL platforms.
  • Database security and protection against vulnerabilities.
  • To work with development teams assisting with data storage and query optimization.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of essential applications.
  • Demonstrate expertise and provide valuable input throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Help design and implement scalable technology solutions.
  • Review current systems and suggest updates as needed.
  • Gather requirements from stakeholders.
  • Document procedures for setting up highly available SQL Server databases on cloud and on-premise environments.
  • Test and debug new applications and updates.
  • Resolve reported issues and respond to queries in a timely manner.
Key Competencies/Skillsets
  • Database management on hybrid environments (on-premise and cloud).
  • MySQL Backup, SQL Server Backup, Replication, Clustering, Log shipping experience on Linux/ Windows.
  • Experience with database usage and management.
  • Cloud computing experience preferably Microsoft Azure.
  • Familiarity with secure application design architecture.
  • Linux experience is a plus.
  • Proficient in using issue tracking tools like Jira.
  • Strong understanding of web-based applications and technologies.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience as SQL Server DBA and as MySQL DBA.
  • MCTS, MCITP, and/or Azure DBA/MySQL certifications a plus.
