Senior DevOps Engineer

About the Role

Our organization seeks a highly experienced and motivated Senior DevOps Engineer to contribute to our team's success. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in software development and coding, with experience transitioning into DevOps with proven expertise in designing, implementing, and managing scalable and resilient DevOps practices.

This role requires hands-on knowledge of modern cloud infrastructure, containerization, automation, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) methodologies.

The Senior DevOps Engineer will play a critical role in bridging development and operations, ensuring that the delivery pipeline, infrastructure, and production environments are robust, efficient, and secure.

You will also be responsible for providing production support and resolving issues promptly, maintaining system uptime, and ensuring high reliability for business-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain DevOps solutions leveraging Kubernetes, AWS, Terraform, and related technologies.
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery, ensuring seamless integration of code changes and deployments.
• Collaborate closely with development, QA, and operations teams to automate workflows and enable faster, more reliable releases.
• Write scripts and code to automate manual tasks and processes, improving efficiency across development and operations.
• Ensure cloud infrastructure is optimized for performance, scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness.
• Provide 24/7 production support, troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly, and implement long-term fixes to prevent recurrence.
• Monitor system health and performance, proactively identifying potential risks and implementing solutions before they impact users.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using Terraform and other automation frameworks.
• Define and enforce DevOps best practices, ensuring that teams follow consistent and efficient deployment and release processes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and align infrastructure and DevOps strategies accordingly.
• Conduct regular testing of systems, processes, and disaster recovery mechanisms to ensure system reliability and compliance.
• Mentor junior engineers, share knowledge, and contribute to building a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 7+ years dedicated to DevOps practices.
• Strong foundation in software development/coding with experience in scripting languages (Python, Bash, Shell, etc.).
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes orchestration, AWS cloud services, and Terraform for infrastructure automation.
• Proven experience in building, maintaining, and scaling CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of DevOps concepts, agile methodologies, and modern SDLC practices.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, CloudWatch).
• Ability to handle production support and incident resolution, including on-call responsibilities.
• Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills with the ability to work under pressure.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across global teams.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to microservices architectures and container-based deployments.
• Knowledge of security best practices in cloud and DevOps environments.
• Experience with test automation frameworks integrated into DevOps pipelines.
• Leadership qualities with the ability to mentor and guide junior team members.
