Backend Software Developer Position

We are looking for a seasoned Backend Software Developer with expertise in Java to join our Partner Platform team.

This team handles large volumes of data and engineering challenges in building distributed systems responsible for automated data ingestion and transformation.

The ideal candidate will have technical depth, a desire to understand the end business, and experience designing sophisticated scalable systems.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Identify requirements and priorities with engineering partners and other platform users.

  2. Design, develop, and deploy high-quality Java applications that integrate with various data sources and services.

  3. Build technical skills in a high-performing team of engineers in India who can design, develop, and deploy Java-based solutions with a focus on backend services and APIs.

  4. Lay a solid foundation of software architecture for the team in system design and code development with a focus on Java and related technologies.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 4+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Expert-level proficiency in backend development, with a focus on Java.
  • Experience with databases, SQL, NoSQL, OLAP, and/or data lake architectures.
  • A strong ownership mentality and drive to solve the most important problems.
  • Passion for implementing standard processes with a bias toward smart automation.
  • Rapid learner with robust analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Comfortable working in a cloud context, with automated infrastructure and service-oriented architecture.
  • Practical knowledge of agile practices with an outlook that prioritizes experimentation and iteration combined with an ability to guide teams toward activities and processes that facilitate optimal outcomes.
