Job Overview:

The Factory Medical Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy work environment at our manufacturing site.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct occupational health hazard assessments to mitigate risks and suggest improvements to management.
  • Develop, implement and maintain general and occupational health procedures in line with ISO requirements and best practices.
  • Provide referral services to local hospitals and specialists, guiding management in addressing and correcting occupational health issues.
Operational Responsibilities:
  • Perform pre- and periodic medical examinations of workers and employees to ensure fitness before deployment and guide them accordingly.
  • Provide first aid care including emergency medical treatment and maintain accurate medical records as per the Factories Act and Rules and ISO requirements.
  • Maintain medicine stock and inventory, including specific antidotes at the on-site Occupational Health Centre.
Financial and People Responsibilities:
  • Manage the Medical Centre revenue budget and propose capital expenditure projects.
  • Prepare budgets and monitor spending, ensuring effective use of resources.
  • Organize occupational health and general health awareness training, including first aid training for employees.
  • Collaborate with Site EHS leads to improve HSE metrics and sustain EHS management at the site.
Requirements:
  • MBBS degree.
  • Diploma in Industrial Health (DIH) or Certificate of Training in Industrial Health recognized by the state government.
  • Minimum 1-8 years of experience in managing OHC in an industrial setup.
