Seed Multiplication Manager Job Description

About the Role:

This position involves developing and implementing seed multiplication programs to align with our organization's finished goods plans. The successful candidate will be responsible for long-term planning and development of seed capabilities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop seed programs that meet our organization's finished goods plans.
  • Plan and develop seed capabilities over a 5-year horizon.
  • Collaborate with growers, suppliers, vendors, and input companies for successful seed contracting.
  • Define accountabilities, responsibilities, and objectives for human resources while rolling out seed programs.
  • Explore new varieties for both seed and processing attributes to drive growth.
  • Maintain legal compliance of seed programs by acquiring and implementing necessary licenses.
  • Demonstrate strong working knowledge and understanding of chemicals, field operations, and storage infrastructure and equipment setup.
  • Provide technical trainings to staff and growers through various modes such as meetings and phone calls.
  • Ensure excellent oral and writing skills for administering annual and monthly reports.
  • Oversee Farm Food Safety audits and surveys to track compliance and improvements in farm practices.

This role involves identifying and establishing new geographies for quality seed production PAN India. The seed requirement number doubles after India Green Field seed minitubers order placement, necessitating doubled operations without compromising on seed quality.
