Job Title

A key role exists for a skilled Roof Rail Systems Design Engineer.

This highly technical position involves developing innovative roof rail systems for passenger vehicles, incorporating features from hatchbacks and SUVs. With 4-8 years of experience in roof rail design, the successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing roof rail systems that meet structural strength, safety, styling, and manufacturing requirements.

The ideal applicant will possess expertise in CATIA V5 and have a deep understanding of packaging awareness and interface with adjacent systems. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to ensure manufacturability and optimize designs for cost and durability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop roof rail systems for various vehicle programs.
  • Ensure feasibility considering structural strength, safety, styling, and manufacturing constraints.
  • Verify manufacturability and optimize designs for cost and durability.
  • Monitor packaging awareness and interface with adjacent systems (roof, body side, sealing, trim).
  • Prepare and review 3D/2D design documentation in CATIA V5.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (styling, BIW, trim, manufacturing).
