Senior Manager Intellectual Property Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Manager to lead our Intellectual Property team. This role will oversee various aspects of intellectual property matters, including product clearance, patent filing and prosecution, litigation, licensing, trademark clearance, and registration for global regions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing our growing IP portfolio, enforcing IP processes to protect our intellectual property and third-party partner interests, and working closely with cross-functional teams to devise effective product development strategies.

  • Develop and manage the growing IP portfolio
  • Enforce IP processes to protect intellectual property and third-party partner interests
  • Work closely with global IP head, research and development, and portfolio teams to devise effective product development strategies
  • Identify patentable inventions, draft patents, freedom to operate reports, infringement and validity analysis, risk assessment and mitigation strategies, file and prosecute inventive solutions, monitor and evaluate third-party scientific and patent publications, provide IP-related inputs for legal agreements and negotiations, manage patent, trademark, copyright, and related issues, maintain record architecture and content, educate management and scientists on best practices for protecting inventions and intellectual property, lead, empower, and coach a team of IP professionals
Requirements

PhD or post-graduate degree in chemistry, biology, biotechnology, sciences, or pharmaceutical sciences

Additional specialization in intellectual property desirable

At least 13+ years of experience in a reputable global pharmaceutical company with team handling skills

Experience in product IP clearances, patent drafting and prosecution, and ancillary areas in a pharmaceutical organization

Litigation, litigation support, and licensing experience most desired

Well-organized, detail-oriented, and a team player capable of working in a deadline-dictated environment

Fluency in English, both written and spoken

Business focus, strategic, innovative, and independent thinking

Customer-centric, embracing change, and leading team
