Join Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India as a Lead Automotive Engineer - Powertrain Systems and drive innovation in the field of Electric Propulsion, Transmission, and Predictive Control.

Overview

The successful candidate will lead the development and series support for EE components for Mercedes Benz Trucks and Buses. This includes defining system and software requirement specifications for powertrain sensors, identifying and developing functional and durable requirements with suppliers, performing technology and supplier landscaping in the sensors area, and driving project plans to meet milestones.

Responsibilities

  • Define system and SW requirement specification for Powertrain sensors
  • Identify, develop and work with Supplier to fulfill functional & durability requirement
  • Perform Technology and Supplier Landscaping in the sensors area
  • Define and develop project plan and drive towards meeting the milestones
  • Cross-functional engagement with Project stakeholders (Quality, Supplier management, Project Team, Aftermarket, Purchase, Plant operations, Vehicle Testing Team etc.)
  • Calibration, Measurement Test Data analysis & Corrective action if any, Field failure analysis & Counter measure definition
  • Conducting System and Design FMEA, Design Mock ups ( DFA, DFS, Interface study etc.)
  • Responsible for release of parts to production and Field quality analysis
  • Initiation of change request based on Value Engineering, Quality improvement, Alternate Part Sourcing & New Technology
  • Process Documentation as per Standards requirement

Requirements

  • System Understanding of Powertrain Domain such as Engine, After-treatment, Transmission etc.
  • Deep Understanding of System & SW Requirements, Control Strategy for Automotive Sensors
  • Experience in Calibration at EOL, Dataset understanding and measurement data analysis
  • Experience in Release processes for HW and SW Components & tool chain for the same (NX, SMARAGD)
  • Good Hands-on knowledge of Automotive standards and protocols
  • Working knowledge of Design principles of (DFMEA, FTA etc..)
  • Good knowledge and experience in HW and SW Development cycles
  • International/intercultural work experience desirable. (Good to have German language know how)
  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Mechanical/Instrumentation/Automobile/Mechatronics/Electrical is preferred
