Network Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Global Networks - Enterprise Network team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing network services and solutions that ensure the best experience possible for our associates and contractors.

Your primary focus will be on creating and improving network services and solutions that meet our business needs. You will work with new technologies to provide technical engagement for all phases of the infrastructure lifecycle, from ideation through execution, ongoing management, and service retirement/recycle.

The successful candidate will have excellent documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. They will be able to lead network design and implementation projects independently or as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, engineer, implement, and optimize LAN/WAN/WiFi networks for the Corporate Network product, adhering to all applicable standards.
  • Manage network services and circuit capacity.
  • Plan and deliver projects, including hardware and software specification, vendor coordination, and full operational turnover.
  • Conduct change planning and run book review.
  • Govern third-party service providers.
  • Provide Level 3 escalation support for operational issues and/or outages.
  • Collaborate with other key teams, including Network Architects, Test and Certification, Information Security, Finance, Procurement, etc.
  • Participate in product strategy and planning.
  • Develop and execute new initiatives to simplify, standardize, optimize, and automate network designs, tooling, and operations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of progressive experience in enterprise networking, with a focus on wireless, SD-WAN, and LAN infrastructure.
  • Expertise in enterprise wireless protocols, RF site surveys, and security best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with deployment, optimization, and troubleshooting of platforms such as Mist AI, Cisco Wireless, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience with SD-WAN (Palo Alto Prisma SD-WAN experience preferred), including policy configuration, site provisioning, and performance tuning.
  • Strong understanding and implementation experience with Fabric-based LAN architectures.
  • Proficient in Layer 2/3 networking concepts, including VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP, and multicast.
  • Skilled in network monitoring, diagnostics, and performance tools.
  • Technical knowledge and experience with telco and ISP networks.
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to lead network design and implementation projects independently or as part of a team.

Preferred Skills and Attributes:

  • Experience creating or leveraging automation, AI, and machine learning to deploy and manage networks.
  • Development and deployment of virtualized network services.
  • Understanding of cloud networking solutions and cloud interconnects.
  • Vendor experience: Cisco LAN / WAN / WiFi; HPE/Mist WiFi; Palo Alto Networks FW and SDWA NetScout, Thousand Eyes, NetMRI, ServiceNow, Oracle SBCs and VOIP.
