Job Description:

The IBM AS/400 Support Specialist will be responsible for delivering technical assistance and maintenance to the company's AS/400 systems.

This includes analyzing system architecture diagrams, identifying dependencies with support teams, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of COBOL, RPG III, RPGILE, SQLILE, and CLLE programming languages, as well as experience with DB2 databases and communication protocols specific to AS/400 servers.

Other responsibilities include documenting system environments, performing code walkthroughs, and interacting with infrastructure teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Familiarize with AS/400 application architecture and interface mechanisms
  • Document system environments, OS levels, and database versions
  • Perform complex code walkthroughs and customized routine analysis
  • Understand AS/400 integration with other systems and identify applicable compliance requirements
Requirements:
  • Experience with AS/400 (COBOL, RPG III, RPGILE, SQLILE, CLLE)
  • Understanding of business purpose of AS/400 application and overall processes it supports
  • Familiarity with DB2 databases, CL commands, and communication protocols specific to AS/400
  • Knowledge of monitoring mechanisms, log directories, and housekeeping processes on AS/400 servers
