Job description:

Key Responsibilities

Incident Problem Management

Handle and resolve critical escalations from L3 teams related to onpremises servers

Perform Root Cause Analysis RCA for recurring server issues and implement permanent solutions

Lead major incident management and disaster recovery efforts

Server Infrastructure Management Optimization

Manage and optimize Windows Server and Linux RHEL Ubuntu CentOS environments

Ensure high availability clustering and failover configurations for critical applications

Optimize server performance storage and compute resources to meet business SLAs

Advanced Networking Security

Troubleshoot and optimize Active Directory AD Group Policies DNS DHCP and LDAP

Manage and secure firewalls VPNs and network configurations for server connectivity

Implement security best practices vulnerability patching and compliance policies ISO NIST GDPR etc

Virtualization Hypervisor Management

Support and optimize VMware vSphere Microsoft HyperV and Nutanix AHV environments

Troubleshoot virtual machine VM performance resource allocation and cluster issues

Implement backup replication and disaster recovery strategies for virtualized environments

Storage Backup Management

Manage SANNAS storage solutions NetApp Dell EMC HPE 3PAR Pure Storage etc

Optimize RAID configurations LUN provisioning and storage tiering

Implement and troubleshoot enterprise backup solutions Veeam Commvault Veritas etc

Automation Scripting

Automate server management tasks using PowerShell Bash Python or Ansible

Develop and implement Infrastructure as Code IaC solutions for server deployment and configuration management

Disaster Recovery Business Continuity

Design and maintain disaster recovery DR plans for onpremises data centers

Perform failover testing and ensure compliance with RTORPO objectives

Support hybrid cloud integration and migration strategies

Technical Leadership Documentation

Act as a subject matter expert SME for onpremises server infrastructure

Provide mentorship and training to L1 L2 and L3 support teams

Maintain technical documentation knowledge base articles and RCA reports

Required Skills Qualifications

Education

Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field

Technical Skills

Deep expertise in Windows Server and Linux administration

Advanced knowledge of Active Directory DNS DHCP and authentication protocols Kerberos SAML NTLM

Experience with VMware HyperV and enterprisegrade virtualization platforms

Strong understanding of enterprise storage backup and disaster recovery solutions

Proficiency in automation and scripting PowerShell Bash Python Ansible

Certifications Preferred

Microsoft Certified Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate

VMware Certified Professional VCP

Red Hat Certified Engineer RHCE

Certified Information Systems Security Professional CISSP for securityfocused roles
