Job Title: Data Governance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced DBA to join our team.

This role involves developing and designing technology solutions that are scalable, relevant, and critical to our company's success.

  • Main responsibilities include managing production databases servers, including security, deployment, maintenance and performance monitoring.
  • Additionally, you will be responsible for setting up SQL Server replication, mirroring and high availability across hybrid environments.
  • The ideal candidate should have experience in designing and implementing new installations on Azure, AWS and cloud hosting with no specific DB services.
  • Prior experience in deploying and maintaining on-premise installations of SQL Server on Linux/MySQL installation is required.
  • You must safeguard database security against SQL injection and intellectual property exploitation.
  • Collaboration with development teams on data storage and query design/optimization as needed.
  • Participation in designing and implementing essential applications.
  • Expertise in providing valuable insights throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Contributing in designing and implementing scalable, lasting technology solutions.
  • Reviewing current systems and suggesting updates as required.
  • Gathering requirements from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Documentation of procedures for setting up and maintaining highly available SQL Server databases on Azure cloud, on-premise and Hybrid environments.
  • Testing and debugging new applications and updates.
  • Resolving reported issues and responding to queries in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining current best practices, trends and industry developments.
  • Identification of potential challenges and bottlenecks proactively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SQL Server management on Hybrid environments (on-premise and cloud, preferably Azure, AWS).
  • MySQL Backup, SQL Server Backup, Replication, Clustering, Log shipping experience on Linux/Windows.
  • Setting up, managing and maintaining SQL Server/MySQL on Linux.
  • Database usage and management experience.
  • Experience implementing Azure Hyperscale database.
  • Financial Services/E-Commerce/Payments industry experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with multi-tier, object-oriented, secure application design architecture.
  • Cloud environment experience preferably Microsoft Azure on Database service tiers.
  • PCI DSS experience a plus.
  • SQL development experience a plus.
  • Linux experience a plus.
  • Proficient in using issue tracking tools like Jira.
  • Proficient in using version control systems like Git, SVN.
  • Strong understanding of web-based applications and technologies.
