Enterprise Data Governance Lead

A strategic and detail-oriented professional is required to manage the development and execution of enterprise-wide data governance initiatives.

This role will sit within a team responsible for ensuring data is managed as a strategic asset, supporting compliance, quality, and ethical use across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development of an enterprise-wide data governance framework, including data ownership, stewardship, quality, and accountability frameworks.
  • Define and enforce data ownership & stewardship by establishing clear roles and responsibilities for data owners and stewards across business units.
  • Facilitate cross-functional stewardship programs and councils to ensure accountability for authoritative data sources, data quality, accuracy, lineage, privacy, and compliance.
  • Drive data quality & integrity initiatives by developing and implementing data quality standards, validation rules, and monitoring processes.
  • Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to remediate data issues and improve trust in enterprise data assets.
  • Contribute to data classification & protection efforts by directing the classification of data assets based on sensitivity, regulatory impact, and business value.
  • Partner with Privacy, Security, and Legal teams to ensure appropriate controls are applied to sensitive and regulated data.
  • Develop and maintain governance policies & compliance frameworks by authoring and maintaining data governance policies, standards, and procedures aligned with privacy regulations.
  • Ensure governance practices support audit readiness and regulatory compliance across jurisdictions.
  • Guide implementation of data governance technology systems and processes by considering metadata management, data lineage, and monitoring tools.
