Job Description

We are seeking an IT Security Specialist to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the security and integrity of our computer networks and IT assets.

This position will involve monitoring our systems for potential security threats, installing and maintaining security software, and resolving any security issues or breaches that may arise.

  • Assist with all phases of incident response, including preparation, identification, containment, eradication, recovery, and lessons learned.
  • Work with data from centralized log and alert management systems to improve their configuration and effectiveness.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest IT security trends and news.
  • Contribute to the development and creation of procedures and policies that balance operational needs with security requirements.
  • Assist in the development and training of a new security team, drawing on previous experience and industry standards.
  • Research and recommend security enhancements to leadership.
Required Skills and Qualifications

We require:

  • A fluent English speaker with excellent communication skills.
  • An experienced incident responder with at least 3 years of experience in information security, including 2 years of triaging and remediating security events.
  • A skilled generalist with real-world experience in multiple IT systems.
  • The ability to investigate, respond to, and resolve security incidents generated by our systems, users, and customers.
  • Knowledge of firewalls, proxies, malware, phishing, SIEM, antivirus, and IDS & IPS concepts.
  • The ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities and explain how to avoid them.
  • Creativity in researching and resolving security issues efficiently, often in an unsupervised environment.
  • Triage and response to alerts generated by other security systems.
Preferred Qualifications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of Centralized Log Management, SIEM or Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) systems.
  • Email protection and fraud defense systems.
  • Identity Services Applications for password protection.
  • Web and Network protection and monitoring tools.
  • Cloud Productivity Environment maintenance and protection.
  • Knowledge of and protection for PCs and Servers.
  • Working knowledge of securing Linux servers and Linux-based security scanning and monitoring tools.
  • A certificate relevant to IT Security.
