About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Graphic Designer with a strong scientific background to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating visually engaging materials that communicate complex scientific concepts in an accurate and impactful way.

The successful candidate will work closely with researchers, writers, and clients to develop a range of visual materials including graphical abstracts, journal cover images, infographics, posters, and brochures.

  • Developing scientifically accurate and visually appealing graphical abstracts that summarize the essence of scientific studies
  • Collaborating with researchers and writers to extract key visual elements and concepts from scientific manuscripts
  • Creating storyboards that outline the visual narrative, ensuring alignment with scientific content and client objectives
  • Generating rough sketches to illustrate initial visual concepts, refining and finalizing visual representations through close collaboration with stakeholders

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scientific graphic designing and communication
  • Developing 3D designs in Blender (an added advantage)
  • Advanced skills in Adobe Design Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop)
  • Experience in scientific publishing & science communication landscape

Qualifications:

  • Graduate or PhD degree in STEM fields (especially Biology/Biotechnology/Medicine/Chemistry/Physics/Engineering)
  • 3-5 years of experience in scientific graphic designing
  • An understanding of the scientific publishing and science communication landscape
