Job Overview:

This strategic leadership role involves providing oversight of the organization’s surveillance function. It entails ensuring effective detection, investigation, and prevention of market abuse or misconduct while maintaining regulatory compliance and market integrity.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Supervise investigations into alerts, suspicious trades, and breaches; ensure timely escalation to compliance, legal, or regulators.
  • Develop, test, and deploy surveillance systems, creating frameworks and SOPs to drive preventive measures.
  • Lead and mentor a team in the surveillance domain, focusing on skill enhancement and continuous learning.
  • Benchmark against global best practices, introducing process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency.
  • Present periodic surveillance reports, risk dashboards, and key metrics to senior stakeholders.
  • Establish and update surveillance policies, escalation protocols, and investigation frameworks as needed.
  • Collaborate with Compliance, Risk, Technology, and Business teams to ensure integrated risk management.
  • Stay ahead of regulatory expectations and market behaviors to protect market integrity.

Requirements:

  • MBA (Finance) or CA/CS degree.
  • Minimum 5-10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of equity and derivatives markets.
  • Familiarity with tools like Excel, Tableau, Power BI, and Python.
