Job Title: ADA / PDF Accessibility Specialist

This role involves ensuring accessibility compliance across various digital platforms, including websites, mobile apps, and documents. The successful candidate will be responsible for auditing, testing, remediation, and compliance reporting.

A key aspect of this position is conducting automated and manual audits to identify accessibility issues in various digital platforms.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of WCAG 2.1/2.2, ADA Title II/III, Section 504/508, and hands-on experience with screen readers and other accessibility tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Audit: Conduct automated and manual audits to identify accessibility issues.
  • Test: Perform real-user accessibility testing using screen readers and keyboard-only navigation.
  • Remediate: Provide clear and prioritized fixes for PDFs, Office documents, videos, and multimedia content.
  • Guide developers on accessible coding practices, including ARIA, semantic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Prepare VPATs/ACRs and client-facing accessibility conformance documentation.
  • Advise clients on emerging US/state accessibility laws.
  • Support quarterly monitoring and ongoing compliance programs.

Required Skills & Tools:

  • Strong knowledge of web accessibility guidelines.
  • Hands-on experience with screen readers and other accessibility tools.
  • Proficiency in HTML5, ARIA, CSS3, JavaScript.
  • Strong documentation/reporting skills.
  • Experience supporting federal, state, or higher education contracts preferred.

Preferred Certifications:

  • IAAP CPWA (Certified Professional in Web Accessibility).
  • IAAP WAS (Web Accessibility Specialist).
  • DHS Section 508 Trusted Tester.
